Amplifier Power Calculator (Audio Power Output Calculator)

This Audio Amplifier Power Calculator Tool helps you quickly determine the output power of an audio amplifier based on the output voltage (Vp, Vpp, or Vrms) and the speaker load resistance (Ω).

Simply enter the output voltage, select whether it’s in Vrms, Vp, or Vpp, and input the speaker impedance (Ω). The tool will instantly calculate and display the amplifier output power in watts (W).

Audio Amplifier Power Calculator

The output power of an amplifier depends on the RMS voltage (Vrms) and the load resistance (speaker impedance, R) using the formula:

P = Vrms2 / R

Where:

  • Vrms (Root Mean Square Voltage) – The effective voltage of a sinusoidal AC waveform that delivers the same power as a DC voltage.
  • R – The speaker load resistance in Ω.
